Computation is developing at such a rate, thanks to automated intelligence programs, that it feels likely we (the West) see a public/private mutation just for this software category.
Leading programs face immense pressure from national governments and why wouldn't they? It feels only natural for state-acquisitions of certain companies in a manner more similar to Chinese co-operations. A first for America's empire.
What seems unique to the states, for now, is the existence of truly private markets.
Premier technology is going to contend with globalization in new ways. A healthy private sector with comparable a.i.p can be both distribution and counterbalance for the next era of state expansion worldwide.
