Without a cat around, the world feels colder.
It's not because it's empty - there are people, there are tasks, and there is noise. But it's the absence of that small, warm presence that doesn't require anything and yet makes you feel at home.
There's no one to walk with soft paws in the morning, no one to lie next to you when the day has been tough.
No one looks at you as if you're the whole world, even if you doubt it yourself.
For me, a cat is not just an animal but a member of the family.
