Computing in space used to be a moonshot. Now it’s an architecture problem. If you follow space infra or β€œbeyond the cloud,” you’ve heard the term Space Based Data Center (SBDC). A SBDC is a distributed network of satellites that provide compute and storage in orbit, powered by solar energy and designed to process data autonomously where it is generated. SpaceComputer fits the category by design: πŸ›°οΈ Distributed compute in orbit πŸ›°οΈ Processing blockchain data πŸ›°οΈ Operate without centralized facilities or constant ground control πŸ“‘ What we do differently: our architecture Enter orbit and unpack what orbital compute is and is not, and how architecture determines scalability for SBDCs beyond proof of concept.

Blockchain consensus is great, but… How do you know when the market is reaching consensus? As Founder of Primitive Ventures and lead investor for SpaceComputer’s pre-seed round, we ask Dovey Wan for the investor’s perspective on pursuits of the space economy.

The software powering the crypto sector was shaped by pioneering scientists in the field into what it is today. At SpaceComputer, we are very proud to have one of these brilliant scientists as an advisor, Professor Dahlia Malkhi. Over the course of her career, Dahlia has worked with some of the top minds in computer science. Her collaborative works span foundational distributed systems and security, including the creation of Hotstuff protocols, which simplified and linearized consensus. Read about Dahlia's Network Effect and her insights on bringing blockchain to the space frontier: https://blog.spacecomputer.io/dahlias-network-effect/

Cloudflare (and their lava lamps) are one clumsy janitor away from losing its RNG. Similar to Cloudflare, SpaceComputer derives randomness for encryption keys. Except it's on a satellite, and seeded by cosmic radiation, giving you ultra-secure attestation and validation beyond a regular RNG. You can start building with SpaceComputer’s randomness beacon today. This technical guide provides a walkthrough of Orbitport, the API gateway that gives you access to our randomness beacon in space for apps and onchain services.

The inventors of the internet’s backbone are now building in space. Welcome to The Frontier Podcast. Hosted by SpaceComputer and Tom Mitchelhill, we bring on builders pushing tech and humankind into the future, igniting conversations about building infrastructure that outlasts us. Grounded in cypherpunk values of cryptography, digital sovereignty, and human ingenuity, the podcast is for believers in open systems, verifiable computation, and the right to privacy. The frontier isn’t coming. It’s already here.

Our only enemy in space is physics. We learned from the mistakes and challenges on Earth where TEEs don’t account for hardware attacks. One or more of your passwords is likely compromised. Passwords are your first line of defence in digital security. However, traditional password generators and RNG can be reproducible, allowing attackers to reverse-engineer or seed-predict. πŸ‘‰ Introducing the Cosmic Cipher. Taking advantage of SpaceComputer's cosmic True Random Number Generator (𝕔𝕋ℝℕ𝔾), Cosmic Cipher generates passwords that are resistant to such attacks.

We are surrounded by complex distributed systems. In such data-heavy systems, we are all some way we are leaking sensitive information via our digital footprint. It's time to find a way to preserve our data with respect to information we are willing to share, and build beyond the fundamental security aspects to create additional privacy,Β even for metadata. Tune in to get the full breakdown of how we plan to guarantee confidentiality and integrity of our tech stack by taking practical approaches to theoretical perspectives.πŸ‘‡ https://x.com/MinnyTheRapper/status/1961007715364360291

Interesting fact about black holes is that they don’t exist It’s not that there isn’t such a thing, it’s that they are no-thing, what defined the holes is the event horizon - the interface between the space-time that exist as we perceive it and the nothingness of the hole
