i want people to be able to query the network in a structured, canonical way, so everyone across time can engage in the same conversation
i want people to be able to build context socially, creating both shared knowledge and deep digital identity
i want people to be aware of what they share, and have great ux to manage their privacy
and i want the world to have a protocol for open source sociology. so am building it

social media were conceived to encourage exactly this wrapped sharing behavior and entrenched information asymmetry...
one of my biggest influences for qbase came from the research publications of companies like OkCupid and Facebook. they were the first public acknowledgement of the power imbalance between the platform and the user, but also showed us what insights were possible–at both the personal and societal level.
instead of willingly ceding our data to these companies and becoming proselytizers of systems that feed on us, WE should own our data and the knowledge and power that comes from it.

## The Brutal Truth
This is a **10-year project**, not a startup. We're building:
1. Social infrastructure (requires network effects)
2. Research infrastructure (requires academic credibility)
3. Economic infrastructure (requires token stability)
4. Privacy infrastructure (requires cryptographic complexity)
5. Governance infrastructure (requires community trust)
**Any ONE of these is hard. All FIVE simultaneously?**
The question isn't "will this work?" (probably not). The question is "is this worth trying?" (maybe yes).
