The Hays Code (Hollywood's moral guideline for film production) was adopted in 1930. Its purpose was, among other things, to uphold moral standards in the American film industry. According to this code, depicting things such as pools of blood, corpses, lawbreaking and undermining the authority of the law, lace underwear, the inner thighs of women, drugs, alcohol, semi-bare breasts, gambling, and pointed guns was prohibited.
In 1940, A. L. Shafer, the chief photographer at Columbia Pictures, took a photograph in which all ten prohibited items were simultaneously depicted in a single image. This photo was passed around among Hollywood photographers and journalists and became known as a symbolic protest against the Hays Code.
The title of this photo was "Thou Shalt Not."

Reflection in photography has always been a fascinating subject for me.
Looking back at my photos from the past four years, I can clearly see a recurring presence of reflections in the world around me. Images with vague and somewhat ambiguous subjects that evoke a sense of uncertainty and play with the viewer's curiosity. And that, for me, is the true satisfaction in photography — creating curiosity and questions about what my images actually are.
