I hate that the Nothing But Flowers book is taking so long but my designer has been too busy winning Emmy's for title design to have time to work on this project pro-bono. The layout has been done for two months so it's just a matter of layout out text and designing the cover when he has time. 📷: @jordannicolette

Since we are still trying to raise some publishing funds for the Nothing But Flowers book I figured we could once again jump on the Zora meta. I think it's been over a year since I started working on the Nothing But Flowers @photobooks project. We raised about $1500 in $degen tips to publish a photobook about nature overcoming civilization. Nearly everyone who started the project with me disappeared and I would sometimes go weeks without working on it, but I kept going and kept going a little bit at a time and the book is finally locked. Now that my designer friend has the book in his hands, it should still be a while as he's doing this as a favor in between raising a kid and winning Emmy awards for his design work on Severance. But once he is finished laying out the text and designing the covers all that comes next is publication. We still need to raise some money for publication, but hopefully preorders will help with that. Whatever the case, I can't wait for you guys to see it. 📷: @ilovedecay & @banthafodderdan

Update to the update. Good news: The layout is locked! Gonna put the pages in order this weekend and it will finally be in the hands of our designer. Less good news: Turns out Shutterstock kinda fucked me and it actually cost $53 after taxes to get those two images instead of $28 so I took out $25. Our new total for publishing is $1434.10 but we also have about $100 in our wallets as well. Any tips are appreciated cause we for sure need to raise some more money for publishing.

Big Nothing But Flowers photo book update. 1) The book is essentially locked. I still need to replace a couple photos with the high res versions and need to figure out the page order, but the actual photo layouts are done. 2) I had been trying to find some very specific images and I couldn't find them anywhere but Shutterstock. I hated doing it but I paid $27.91 for a monthly plan to grab two images off there. One of the hardest parts of this book is matching styles across all the photographers and also working with the lyrics of the song Nothing But Flowers. I had to go outside of our community a bit. 3) I sent myself $28 USDC from the Photobooks account to pay for the one month of Shutterstock. 4) I was trying to have the book published in time for the NY Art Book Fair, but my table request was denied so I don't quite have a hard deadline anymore, but I am hopefully moving into a new house on October 1st so I would like to be done with this book ASAP. 📷: Zoran Divič via Shutterstock

Another update on the Nothing But Flowers photo book! Right now I am waiting for two high res images and the book should be just about locked! After it's locked I am going to print every page out and put them on my office floor until I find the perfect page order and then send it off to my designer who can hopefully find time to work on it. I gotta check and recheck everyone's credits and write a little intro to the book and send it off to the printer. Still hoping for a September release date, but I also might be buying a house in August so it's possible that throws a huge wrench into everything which is why I am trying to get this off to the designer ASAP! Thanks so much to everyone who submitted work! I can't wait for everyone to see it!

In 2015 I mad a zine called Fuck LA for the LA Art Book fair. I only made 50 of them, all signed and numbered. They sold out instantly so in 2018 I reprinted the zine again and now that's long gone. I only mention it because I am going to LA this weekend for the first time in like two years which is probably the longest I have gone without visiting LA since 2008. LA was a second home to me for a long time and I even dated someone who lived there for two years. I have taken so many insane photos out there and this zine is DEEPLY NSFW. One of these days I might have to do a third printing. It was kinda my love letter to LA cause I have had some of my best and worst nights there. The idea was "fuck you LA" but also, "I want to fuck you, LA". If you want to see some of the NSFW spreads check out dbbproductions.com.

After taking a small break I am back to working on Nothing But Flowers again. Still waiting on some high res selects, trying to fill a few holes and honestly need to develop a couple rolls of film that I shot for it. My hope is that it will be in the cover designer's hands by mid July for a September publication date.
