was just recalling how $noice’s ups and downs used to affect me a lot in the first month of it being live. we had an 80% drawdown after launch euphoria - I was in NY then, on the road for weeks at that point, and mentally, as scattered as I’ve ever been in life. it really got to me back then. but now, it no longer fazes me. my biggest learning - and something i share with all founders thinking of launching a token - is this: stick to the plan, execute to the best of your abilities, be earnest and honest with your community. the token will take care of itself. it’s a lagging indicator of what you do, and if you’re on track, it shows up in the charts eventually i understand that the current drawdown comes from broader market conditions + us being a little lowkey with the noice v2 these past weeks. but the noice way has always been to cook it right, even if it takes time. if you’re a holder, thank you for your trust - we’re working relentlessly toward v2, and i promise that your patience will pay off

from day 1 we kept talking about how your tip amount should be a number you don't feel stressed over sending to your friends. we don't want to change your farcaster usage behaviour. you shouldn't even be thinking about tipping. if you're in my mentions talking about you've tipped hundreds of dollars, it just doesn't matter. people who tipped $10 were part of the airdrop too. i don't want one person to tip $50 a day. i want 50 people to tip a $ a day. that's sustainable, that's how people get paid for casting. that's how this network will grow. we have to build a new behaviour. for that, we have to be sustainable. we want to stick around for a loooong time. if you think tipping $500 over a month and then expecting that your airdrop would be $1000 is how it should, then you're just not thinking the way we are thinking about this. no disrespect either, i want y'all to get in next time. just listen.

great mental model for this: think of it as curation. if someone were to go through the casts that you've tipped on the noice mini app, would they have a fun time scrolling? don't only tip gm casts, tip (and create) thoughtful content don't only tip your few friends, tip across different circles on farcaster find up and coming creators on farcaster and tip them, become their reason to be on fc

tip the kind of content you think will bring more people to farcaster. tip the kind of content you can show your friends when trying to get them on here. heck, create that content. it can be anything - memes, sports, writing, videos, etc etc. think of tipping as a way to curate the best casts on the network do that and get paid when the second airdrop arrives
