it’s common practice to stake a token, receive the lst and just hold it to accumulate yield
however, if you’re an active defi user, you’d want to utilize that lst. i mean, that’s the reason liquid staking protocols exist in the first place - to solve the problem of illiquidity
speaking of lsts, we have shmon
shmon is the lst you receive when you stake mon on @0xfastlane staking platform (shmonad). you can do this directly on their website or through HaHa wallet
if you’re an active defi user and unsure whether to stake to shmon because you don’t know what you can use shmon for, then this post is for you

shmon utilities and platforms to explore with it:
→ liquidity provision: you can supply shmon to pools to earn trading fees. for single-sided liquidity; you can deposit shmon in Pingu / NitroFinance / Atlantis.
for two-sided liquidity (shmon/wmon pool); you can deposit in Monday Trade / Bean Exchange / Clober / OctoSwap / SomethingSwap / Kuru
→ lending/borrowing: you can deposit in these lending protocols - Curvance / Neverland / Townesquare - for apy and/or borrow against them
→ nft time-lock vaults: lock shmon in MeowFi’s bribe-lock vaults to mint liquid NFTs, earn yield from various sources. i’ve not done deep research to understand the mechanics of MeowFi, so forgive the poor explanation
→ trading: trade shmon on dexs like Monorail / Kuru / Crystal Exchange / Mace / Sherpa
→ restaking: you can restake shmon on Enjoyoors to earn points which, according to the website, will be converted to their native token. recently came across this, best to dyor
just to chip this in: you can also commit shmon to the custom shmonad rpc for faster txn travel, stability, and low latency. it’s stake-weighted so the higher the commitment, the better the service. although it's not a utility in the defi sense, i'd like to classify it as a utility of shmon token
p.s:, i only mentioned a few projects but there are more platforms you can play around with using shmon. take your pick from the list or elsewhere, and ofc DYOR :)

Why $Monad Could Reach $0.20 After Mainnet Launch
Here’s why:
The initial total supply is 11 billion tokens, which translates to a market cap of about $2.2 billion — roughly comparable to APT’s early valuation.
This is the first time Wall Street will gain access to a new form of ICO through Coinbase’s registered offering.
Because it’s their first exposure, Wall Street won’t allow itself to take a loss.
Monad stands out for its rare level of transparency — it publicly disclosed all of its market makers. This move makes it feel more like a stock market IPO than a typical crypto project.
In short, a $0.20 price is almost inevitable!
