Had some people asking why the mints are priced at 6$ USD?! Let's make a transparent breakdown of how much an app like Fight Night costs. Upon generating the first hero image I actually generate 2 more in the backend. Making this first step already 4 api calls when we include Traits. This step is actually free on the app, but restricted to wallet fund holdings. As when a user has 0 funds, this is already too much of a loss as they won't mint regardless. The first 2 days this was not the case and with 400 generations that was an api cost of 54 usd. (My bad I guess) When a user mints, the next step happens. We generate a 3D mesh from the earlier backend generated images Re-mesh the model to reduce polygon count and file size, generate a texture normal map and rig the character. Cost per character with these steps included is around 1.5 usd, but when one of the steps fails it can be up to 3 usd. Afterwards we need to store these, load these, and provide multiplayer support. Bandwidth usage is currently at around 43GB. Let's calculate: - Neynar - 10$/month - ipfs storage - 25$/month - Vercel - 25$/month - Railway - 5$/month - Railway bandwidth - 10$/Usage - 3D - 97$/Usage - Image Gen - 68$/Usage (should be less in the future by the entry gate) Total: 240$ How much did I make? Currently 40 characters (-minus my own) = 240$ making it a perfect break even! Hell yeah! But whenever you complain again or thinking about building, keep it in mind ;)

Before @letshaveaword Round 24 starts, a few updates 👇 🔴 NEW: Superguess After 850 guesses, any player can purchase a Superguess with $WORD for an exclusive 25-guess, 10-minute window. All players receive a notification and can watch live: guessing from non-Superguessers is disabled while the Superguesser’s activity displays on spectators’ screens in real time. Players are allowed one Superguess per round, and purchasing a Superguess grants the new Showstopper 🍿 Wordmark. Half the $WORD payment is burned, and half goes to funding staking rewards. I’m so excited about this new mechanic. My hope is that it makes Let’s Have A Word! more fun and engaging for everyone; e.g., you can imagine someone live-streaming a Superguess... and the spectator mode adds a whole new layer to the game. 📦 Guess pack adjustments Guess packs now come in 1-packs (3 guesses) and 3-packs (9 guesses) only; the 2-pack has been removed. 90.7% of all guess packs purchased in the first 23 rounds were 1- and 3-packs, so I’m just following player behavior here (A nice byproduct is that this also opens up space on the pack purchase modal for Superguess). Likewise, pack pricing has been increased slightly from a base of 0.00030 to 0.00040 ETH in the interest of jackpot growth and game self-sustainability. I’ve attached an infographic for reference. 📘 Word list I added CLAWD to the word list, because why not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The total canonical word count is now 4,439. Step 1: Reveal your Fighter based upon your Farcaster pfp Step 2: Mint your Fighter, this will generate a 3D character from your revealed fighter!
