@microsub is shutting down indefinitely.
it is no longer a priority for me and i can’t afford the resources required to keep an unprofitable service operating.
moreover, recent developments with the $DEGEN token and its leadership don’t give me hope that our values will ever align; it is never acceptable to take someone’s money and then retroactively change a deal. i don’t condone this behavior and don’t wish to be associated with the project. i have a lot of respect for @jacek, owe him a lot, and hope he learns from his mistakes; i wish him well.
with that said, i don’t claim ownership of the code, systems, or knowledge used to create /microsub and its systems. they belong to Farcaster — they belong to you.
if you’re interested in resurrecting the project in some way and have the skills to do so, i’m happy to advise; reply to this post or send me a direct cast.
thank you to everyone who supported me, this project, and other creators on Farcaster.

a brief manifesto:
the purpose of a “state” is to solve coordination problems in exchange for physical (geographical) security.
capital solves human coordination problems. i regard the concept as a mandatory public good.
capital is a neutral, indifferent abstraction. it is “natural”.
without it, we’d not have a civilization resembling the one we know. without it, i definitely wouldn’t be typing this right now. look at the amazing things our species has accomplished! miraculous.
i love the concept and have long touted myself as a “capitalist”. in my sense, capital is meant to accrue to its most adept wielders so it maintains its chances of perpetuating its well-wielding. in many (maybe most?) cases, it does, but “adept” can and does (documentably) get extremely sinister (depending on the rules, and the efficacy of their ostensible enforcement…)
i digress; any desirable form of capital becomes, by definition, “scarce”.
