Biggest med school truth: a cursory exam can cost you big time! 😬 Missing crucial details in a simple general physical exam can derail diagnosis and optimal care. Don't skimp on the basics, medics! Pay attention to every detail – it's the difference between a solid plan and a mess. Daily dose of med wisdom from your fave med student, retalien 💡

Quick update on a hot neurology topic: Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA). It's like a stroke, but super fast – symptoms happen and vanish in a brief moment, often before patients even realize what's happening. Think of it like a brief glitch in blood flow to the brain. People might dismiss it as a minor issue, but TIAs are a serious warning sign! Get that sorted, doc! 💡 Signed your favourite med student retalien🙃

The new anti-TB drug regimen is a viable regimen, because it not only reduces the number of weeks a person will have to be on the drugs, but it also reduces the serious side effects like neuropathy and nightmares, by changing Ethambutol to Moxifloxacin and Rifampicin to Rifampentin

As a doctor, a pedantic behaviour during a surgery is the easiest and yet the most efficient and effective way to prevent surgical site infections.

One of the many reasons why I dislike internal medicine is because many of the diseases have obscure aetiologies. Take hypertension for example, is the problem because the kidney is responding to hypoperfusion or the kidney is causing the hypoperfusion? Well, I can’t say for sure, but the good thing is that with the evolution of medicine, a lot of this diseases will have cures and that is why this course is a beautiful thing.
