I still don’t get why One Piece fans brood over Ace’s death. I’m a One Piece stan myself and a well-known Zoro fan on this app, and I’m not saying “his death was useless.” But honestly, in the story it only really wrecked Luffy. I doubt it hit most of us viewers that hard. Compare that to Whitebeard’s death — now that’s impact. The guy died standing, dropped one of the most iconic lines in the series: “The One Piece is real.” I haven’t seen a character with that much aura in a long time. He was called the strongest, and he lived up to it. He made us root for a better ending, moved the whole anime world, and shook every character on screen, main or side. But Ace? We didn’t even have 30 episodes with him, and he couldn’t handle Whitebeard, who only had about 20 episodes to build his legend. So I’ll ask again: what exactly makes Ace’s death so sad, and why do we keep brooding over it? My thoughts only😂

The one thing I love about this day and age is how the Otaku community has continued to proliferate. Back in 2023, I was watching an anime and the girl next to me said she was disgusted and didn’t want to see it. Go back even further, before 2020, and you could literally count the number of people who watched anime on your fingers. Now it’s different. You mention Solo Leveling and the new-gen fans are talking instantly. Drop a Kamehameha and the OGs react. Say One Piece and the old-gen jumps straight into a Naruto vs. One Piece debate. The way this culture has proliferated is beautiful. We’ve come a long way, and it’s honestly incredible to see.

Back in the day — early 90s — Mecha was the king of otaku meetups. Gundam and Evangelion were on everyone’s lips. Non-stop talk. Then came the dark days. The genre declined, got pushed out, almost forgotten. Fast forward to 2005 and beyond. Mangakas and directors decided to refine the Mecha formula. They added powers, killed off side characters to build the MC, threw in romance. Suddenly, Mecha was back. Gurren Lagann and Code Geass were everywhere. Then… another decline. 2018 hit, and we got another refine. This time it was machines built for war, raw and grounded. Honestly, the best take on Mecha I’ve seen. 86 dropped and took over — crazy numbers, endless discussion. Point is: if you don’t refine things, they stagnate. They can’t keep up with changing times, especially now when this generation gets bored in seconds.
