really loved this pod with @shawmakesmagic and @linda. a few things really caught my attention: one, i love the opensource ethos of contributing to the future you want to live in. both shaw and linda emphasize how if you want decentralized social to win, you gotta pitch in. it won’t happen on its own (or maybe at all), and if it does happen it will be a grind. you’re the ideal person to help the grind because your values are represented here and nowhere else. as @visakanv says, spent your time and energy on what you want to see more of. two, shaw's vision for an agent-powered social future aligns with what ive been working towards at neynar. i want agents to be proactive -- to find me collaborators, opportunities, friends, etc. connecting with ppl on social has already been insanely valuable in my life, and it could be so much better. and tbh fc is the best place to build this today finally i resonated with shaw's legal battle cuz its very similar to what i went through at LBRY vs the SEC (our shitposts did show up in court but the judge loved em so dw bb). its ironic when you consider how much Elon hates the SEC but in this lawsuit he's playing their part https://pinetree.so/video/0x8d4721001f4f372baf4e43ddbc2b22bc0fd0e946

IRL is the the antimeme of URL > We need move away from the abstract/virtual world where information is only something that we take in through our eyes and maybe ears, sitting by ourselves in front of a screen. If we treat ourselves as artificial beings embedded in a low-dimensional landscape of pixels, as game- and information-theoretic agents engaged in stimulus-response or at best strategic/computational optimization, we ignore the fact that we are bodies. > We are human bodies ... The “densest” form of communication would be something that involves our entire sensorium. > the meme is (potentially) the densest form of communication **within** the degraded artificial space of a feed-based social media platform. But these platforms’ antimemes are the **embodied, social processes** that cannot be encoded as digital media, and they are far more information-dense than anything that happen on a screen. https://kevinmunger.substack.com/p/the-antimeme-is-the-message-of-the
