wow went back to facebook and most of my secondary school and uni friends still use facebook frequently if not daily, that's ~20 years of usage 🤯

today i wrote on a friend's memorialized facebook wall, it's the first i wrote since his passing a decade ago, i've contemplated on writing on his wall, but somehow this time i felt the urge to write a short comment
he was the smartest person i know irl, got offered a full-time job at google in seattle while interning there, before he graduated.
i always think about him whenever i see nascent techs, he was the first person i know using an air-gapped laptop for his btc wallet back in ~2010 (i think?)
his life's obsession was railgun tech and i will wonder forever about the 'what ifs' of his life if he was still alive

the amount of consumerism in indo is just abysmal, the laser focus of image and status ranging from ownership of your own kin to materialism is difficult to define with logic alone.
many goes as far as getting loans from BNPL (buy now pay later) schemes that are legal/illegal or gray area to inflate their ever short-sighted ego.
the chronic craving of validation is samsara without a desired exit.
