That thing where you shoot a wild party but you left your point and shoot camera in your other jacket pocket and you had to buy a cheap piece of shit that Walmart sells because the three thrift stores you went to didn't have any cameras and the camera came with a roll of film that you assumed would come out better than the rolls of film you have shot from the 80s that have less of a color shift than this fucking garbage.

1999 was my senior year in highschool and here is extremely late 90s photo. The girl in the shot was my second ever girlfriend but I don't think we were still together. We actually started hanging out again in our late 20s weirdly enough. The guy in the red shirt I am still friends with. The guy in the middle was a really talented artist but all he ever wanted to do was smoke weed and watch anime. I don't know what he's up to now, but I always remember watching scary anti-weed ads on TV and thinking filming Benny would be much more effective way of showing the dangers of the devil's lettuce.

I have this IG account (@vintagedbb) that is like my old party photos from the late 2000s/early 2010s and I just dug through so many old 35mm photos to pull 20 American themed photos from that era, a time before MAGA ruined American flags for 50% of the country. I had so much fun pulling this stuff.

Not sure how many people are familiar with Troma films but their founder Lloyd Kaufman (second pic) basically created the horror comedy genre when he directed the Toxic Avenger. Troma were such pioneers and made all these insane low budget films and launched the careers of so many people including James Gunn and the South Park guys. I was a huge Troma fan as a kid and I eventually became friends with some of the Troma crew including Lloyd Kaufman.
My buddy Doug was basically co-directing a movie called Shakespeare Shitstorm, a horrifying retelling of the Tempest, and I asked him if I could be an extra just so I could say I was in a Troma movie and so I could shoot some BTS photos.
I had a few shots left on the roll in my camera and I shot these photos with it. I then loaded a second roll and somehow it didn't wind and I shot all 36 exposures into one shot. I was devistated. I love film so much but it can be absolutely heartbreaking.
