But wait - in Chinese, you’ll actually find it written like this: 手纸.
It’s the same word 紙 (“paper”),
just simplified in the 20th century.
Japanese, however, adopted kanji back in the 5th century,
so they kept the traditional characters 😊

FINALLYYY got what coupons actually mean 😅💡

It means if something costs $300, you use the coupon and pay only $100 🥲💸

What made the idea grow in my mind is how tempting similarity can be - it looks so real! That’s how language tricks me into digging deeper with excitement, and when I finally find out they’re not related at all… I can almost hear it laughing at me haha 😄
