Interesting (and probably more or less meaningless) to see Trump in a purple tie today He’ll almost always wear a red tie (signifying power) or sometimes blue (symbolizing confidence). Purple has traditionally been a color of wealth + royalty, psychologically it’s a tie color for “mixed emotions” (you’ll pretty much always see the Fed Chair Powell in a purple tie, other political leaders will often wear purple when under fire) No idea if it’s related to his absence this weekend, a political choice by a stylist, or if he simply grabbed a purple tie he liked

Which way Western man? Seeing this beautiful old art deco USPS building in Napa boarded up in favor of the strip mall variety a block or so away hurt my soul a bit Evidently the building was damaged during an earthquake in 2014. The local government deemed it wasn’t worth the $2m to renovate and sold it to a developer where it has sat for years with plans (moving at a snail’s pace) for it to become the lobby of a hotel. The bureaucracy in the US and especially California is insane

Trains got absolutely rekt today for hours, on our way home from downtown, once again due to "trespasser on the rails". What the fuck does that actually mean? Just run through them. Best way to discourage the behaviour. We had to go back via an alternative, longer route which included a (ugh) bus ride.

After hosting a group at the A’s game last night I grabbed a final drink with my colleagues (55M & 46M). As we chatted a little about investing my ~55 y/o colleague pulled up his Stocks app and was excited to show us the hot investment he’s been on IBIT (Blackrock’s BTC ETF) To say I was surprised is an understatement. He was tracking about 15 tickers (very few compared to me at least) and was shilling BTC These days I stay pretty quiet about crypto irl, mentioned I have a little as well while our 46 y/o colleague felt he’d missed the boat and any small allocation now wouldn’t be meaningful We’ve gone mainstream, and long term will probably keep winning Burying the lede a bit, I’ve been vocally /bullposting for the entirety of my time on fc. I’ll probably always have a heavy crypto bag, but for me the time to take profits is here*. Would love to look back months/years from now and say man that was way too early to sell anything fwiw *Selling from IRA to start for tax purposes

Restaurant menu rant: As a restaurant there’s two primary options for menu descriptions, just the dish name or the dish name + all of the ingredients included below This morning I had another experience of an undisclosed mayo amalgamation in an otherwise beautiful steak breakfast burrito that was soaked and ruined. Shouldn’t have to ask if all of the ingredients are listed or if they’re planning to desecrate my meal with some disgusting sauce
