Just wrapped up an incredible day at The Next Frame event, part of the Bentonville Film Festival at The Momentary! 🏛️🎨 It was amazing to see so much local energy focused on the future of storytelling, STEAM, and creative production tools. We spent the afternoon connecting with fellow creators and talking about what we are building with BizarreBeasts ($BB), and the massive opportunities opening up for independent creators on DCP+ (@dcpfoundation). The transition from traditional pipelines to decentralized, community-backed media is happening right now, and having this prestigious event happen in our new backyard in Bentonville is BIZARRE. I've been building a brand-new, BIZARRE website just for kiddos. Today, I'm excited to share kids.bizarrebeasts.io! 🎨👾 I wanted to create a space where kids can go BIZARRE and play games, color, draw, and make their own digital creations in the interactive Sticker Studio using hand-drawn BizarreBeasts ($BB) artwork and characters. BizarreBeasts Kids is a safe place to hang out on the internet. The site has: ❌ Zero ads ❌ Zero sign-ups ❌ Nothing to purchase ❌ No tracking It is just pure, creative fun. Kids (and adults too 😉) can play games, design custom scenes in the Sticker Studio, or download printable high-res coloring pages of the characters starring in our upcoming BizarreBeasts animated series on DCP+ (@dcpfoundation)! Long before launching the project on @farcaster, the entire BizarreBeasts ($BB) universe originally started with ink and paint on paper and canvas. Four Eyed Brute is one of my original BizarreBeasts paintings: hand-drawn, hand-painted, and fully BIZARRE. This is a look at the mixed media creation process for this piece using acrylic paint, oil sticks, spray paint, and paint markers all layered on canvas. I just wrapped up some live drawing at Onyx Coffee on the Square, and walking around sharing the BIG news! BizarreBeasts ($BB) is officially moving to Bentonville, Arkansas! @kateyarter and I have packed up our entire lives, our studio, and ALL of our art to join this incredible community. That means we are bringing the entire production of our hand-drawn, original series BizarreBeasts right here to Bentonville! We’re so excited to talk about the show and our exclusive streaming partnership with DCP+, by @dcpfoundation. Their mission is to support independent creators outside the traditional Hollywood system, empowering artists like us to scale our businesses and make a real impact in our local communities. BIG NEWS! I’M GOING BIZARRE FULL-TIME! 👹🏁 After 2 years of building in the early mornings and late nights, I’ve left my corporate role to go ALL-IN on BizarreBeasts. The studio is officially in "Production BEAST Mode" as @kateyarter and I create the BizarreBeasts series launching exclusively on DCP+ (@dcpfoundation). In just the last two months, we’ve logged 1,100+ hours across the entire pre-production scope for the content. 📽️ BTS EPISODE 4 🎬 The BizarreBeasts ($BB) studio is in full-scale production BEAST mode! 🏗️💥 🔊 @kateyarter and I are deep in the trenches of script development and creating the details and fun moments for our upcoming BIZARRE series on DCP+. 📺 🛠️ This week’s BTS episode includes: 🌅 DYNAMIC SKIES: New city parallax systems featuring full Seymour Sun and Monety Moon animations. 🌙☀️ 🎨 VISUAL DNA: Finalizing the official color palettes for the Bizarre City environment library, progressing from outside to inside. 🏠 🎙️ CHARACTER DESIGN: Behind the scenes of the Benny and Seymour Sun design process (including the first official voice-over recordings for Benny!) 🔊 🧪 THE LAB: A "making of" look at Bizarre Lab in "raw" form, before I plug in the mechanics and bring the lab to life with a rooftop generator and bubbling slime tank. 🧪⚡️ 📝 STORY DEEP DIVE: We are deep in the development of scripts, storyboards, and beat sheets to map out the entire season of mini-episodes and the BizarreBeasts Learning Lab. 📽️ BTS EPISODE 3: "BIZARRE CITY: EXPANDING..." 🎬 The BizarreBeasts studio is growing! 🔊 We’ve officially moved from designing the "basics" of the environments to scaling the entire world of Bizarre City for our upcoming series powered by @dcpfoundation. 📺✨ 🛠️ This week’s BTS episode includes: 🌳 TOUCHING GRASS: The BizarreBeasts now have 12 parks to hang out in! I have illustrated a massive central park in the city square complete with a pond and fountain, and 11 other BIZARRE parks for the city. (We went on a nature hike at a local lake for the environment inspiration! 🥾) 🎙️ CHARACTER VOICES: @kateyarter is designing the soundscapes and completing the custom tracks for our first animated short. 🔊 THE THEME: We officially locked in the high-energy BizarreBeasts theme song for the series intro. It is a VIBE. 🔥 The $BB world is getting bigger, more BIZARRE, and the beasts are truly coming to life! This past week I focused on the daily life animation sequences: Hans is sipping coffee, jamming to records, and watering plants, while Cecil is shredding on his guitar! 🎸☕️ Lots of BIZARRE fun is under development and coming soon to DCP+.
