Art-Talks v6 DO HO SUH (born 1962) Suh’s work includes large-scale installations, sculptures, and drawings, often exploring themes of space, memory, and displacement. His architectural fabric sculptures, like "Home Within Home" and "Seoul Home/L.A. Home/New York Home/Baltimore Home/London Home/Seattle Home," recreate personal and domestic spaces in translucent fabric. Suh is influenced by his experiences as a Korean expatriate and the architectural traditions of Korea. The works of artists like Gordon Matta-Clark and Rachel Whiteread have also shaped his exploration of space and identity. Suh's exploration of personal and architectural spaces has inspired artists like Sarah Sze and Rirkrit Tiravanija. His innovative use of materials and concepts of home and migration continue to influence contemporary art. 🌱if you enjoyed this pls <Follow /art-talks + Recast + Tag in comments friends interested in Art Talks > 🤝

I recently visited Seville, and hit the Fine Arts museum - which surprisingly is free for EU citizens. This work below did not impress me more than others, but its story did! It was acquired (from a private collector) by the municipality for its heritage and cultural value. https://warpcast.com/iamluke/0xfeb60c11

Does anyone talk about art anymore, or just tips? This platform has a magical way of separating wheat from chaff.

When you pick up that pen, And your emotions unwind. Every noise turns to whisper, Every pain turns into ink. Don't try to understand it, just do it. When the storm calms, make it a beautiful reflection.

I have a serious question about art competitions. How can art compete with each other? Each artwork can be very different and the appreciation of it is highly subjective. But I am not an expert and this is why I ask. I believe in art selection and curation, but not competitions. Please help me make sense of them.
