When a cryptocurrency is “hacked,” like what’s happened with Ethereum Classic (ETC) in the past, it usually means one of two things, If one entity controls over 50% of the network’s mining power, they can rewrite transactions, double-spend coins, and block new ones. ETC has suffered multiple 51% attacks due to lower network security. Sometimes, vulnerabilities in apps or bridges on the chain are exploited—not the blockchain itself. Hackers can drain funds or manipulate the system. In both cases, trust is damaged and token value usually drops.

Maybe? Hopefully… relatively similar things that have not aged like milk are Grayscale making a BTC trust before the ETH trust. The US approving ETFs in the same order, and the inflows we’ve seen tied to them. Other government’s reserves being Bitcoin focused. This announcement is another in the long line of stuff that shows the market shows a very distinct “BTC and then everything else” attitude. Arguably it’s gotten worse now that Bitcoin only is being explored to be bought “tax neutral”. Texas senate just passed a vote to create the reserve with a marketcap limit clearly intended to focus Bitcoin as the first mover This stuff matters because public perception is Bitcoin and then everything else - not Bitcoin, Ethereum then everything else
