Definitely not vitalik but, here’s my take.
Most “privacy projects” are apps or siloed L1s which are great for transfers, but they break EVM composability, add trusted setups/relayers, or create compliance risk. The aim here is base-layer, programmable privacy: private-by-default calls that still plug into DeFi, MEV-aware, and with selective-disclosure/view keys for audits with no new trust assumptions.
