"The night before, Oreo had passed away. Still devastated by her loss, I decided to take Mungo for a hike after work to enjoy a beautiful autumn day. My mind was consumed by grief, overwhelmed by the sadness of losing Oreo. During the hike, we stopped to rest. I sat in silence, trying to find some peace and sort out my thoughts as we listened to the whisper of the wind and the birds singing."
Suddenly, I noticed Mungo looking up at the sky. It was strange, because he had never done that before, nor has he done it since, but at that moment, he remained gazing upwards for at least five minutes. Intrigued, I took a picture of that instant. At that precise moment, I felt something special: I was convinced that Oreo was there with us, accompanying us, comforting his brother, and letting us know that, although he was no longer physically present, he was still close, watching over us from another place.
I have a voice.
