While Turing, Church, and von Neumann pioneered computing at Princeton, its standalone department was established only decades later in 1985 under Sedgewick. According to Sedgewick, many at Princeton mocked the new department, saying that refrigerators deserved one too. I just voted to stay and build a techno-optimist community with the Network School Farcaster core team. We’re going to implement a Singapore-like code to ensure positive-sum behavior within this app, as distinct from the hostility of most social media. It’s an experiment in decentralized digital democracy, where everyone who’s here has freely opted in. Here’s my onchain vote for the new social smart contract: https://basescan.org/tx/0x733ee03d2269d3cab87f8cf36d053a776a1ef38ee10d41f101c93a5d928bf6f8
