It's been about 9 years since my dad passed away after a lifelong battle with heavy alcoholism. In spite of his faults, I adored him growing up. Today I ran into a super cool guitar riff on YouTube and — just for a split second — thought about sending it over to dad. Then reality caught up. Rough.
