not my experience! saw quite a few sushi train places operating like normal in tokyo,  gifu, nagano, niigata on a recent trip

Part off me is glad but I enjoyed the novelty of selecting off the belt. Watch, in twenty years, it’ll be cool to go to “retro” style conveyor belt sushi places lolol

I'd say it's about 50/50, but everyone I've ever been with cautioned me to not take the food from the conveyor belt haha
