Some details on the new Playoff Bets feature...
⚾ Anyone with $DAT can participate - you don't need to have a Databaseball team
⚾ This is more like a betting game than real bets - you don't risk your DAT, there are no losers. All you do is pick winners and hold DAT, and if you do well you get Points for Season 2.
⚾ You can place bets any time through the playoffs. The earlier you bet, the more bet-hours you accrue, which factors into the percentage of points you can win.
⚾ So it might make sense to pick your teams early, or to wait and see what emerges in later rounds for safer picks. IDK the right strat (and I'm hedging myself).
⚾ If you pick an underdog, you might end up with a bigger pool share, but this is TBD, based on who plays and how they play.
Tl;dr - this is a experiment to see what its like to bet on Databaseball teams, with ambitions of paramutual contract based betting some time in the future.
