Dev Update: been tuning and testing Sim Engine V2 in prep for opening day. Feels pretty baked now! Get ready, here is what's new Complete SimV2 Guide for DataBaseball

 ⚾ 1) Core Hitting Logic
Fixed issues that globally inflated hit outcomes for players with lots of walks. Sorry Barry Bonds and Ted Williams, you will forever have an asterisk next to your crazy season 2 stat lines.

Crazy S Tier lineups still expected to swat but maybe a bit less so. ⚾ 2) Historical Defensive Stats Outcomes
A deep defensive outcome system has been included in the new sim engine. Really proud of this one. Based on real historical defensive stats, fielders will feature their skills (or lack there of) on both Hitter and Pitcher controlled at bats. Poor fielders will sometimes turn outs into errors or bloopers, where runners reach base. Good fielders will take hits away as web-gems. We use real-life fielding zone ratios to determine what position is involved in each ball in play, and these plays are all logged in boxes and game logs.

 ⚾ 3) Pitcher Dominance
Pitchers with markers of dominance, including Fielding Independent Pitching stats like K rate and K/BB, as well as counting stats like Wins and Saves, will be able to control more at bats in high leverage situations. This includes runners in scoring position and close / late. When this comes into effect, it will be visable in Game Logs as the pitcher “locking in.”

 ⚾ 4) Tuned Pitching Fatigue
Pitchers will be more sensitive to historical endurance, and managers will be more aware of struggling arms. Workhorses will still get their shutouts and CGs, but if your arm is not used to throwing lots of innings in a season, and they start to falter at all in the early innings, it will show.

⚾ 5) Improved bullpen usage patterns
Relief pitchers will pitch when you expect them to pitch most of the time. Closers will close, setup men will handle the 8th.
Sometimes, implied fatigue will force other relievers into high leverage roles. No longer possible to hide a negative PV pitcher at MR2 and feel safe he won’t effect the games from time to time.

 ⚾ 6) Ghost Players Nerfed
You can still have holes in your lineup and rotation, but unlike in season 2 this will be a real issue in games. Holes will be filled with ghost players as always, and now ghost players will be the suck. databaseball.fun
