💡 Throwback to 2014…
A cousin came back from Lagos after a wedding and told me about Bitcoin. Curious and excited, we jumped right in. For over 5 months, we were solving captchas non-stop, believing we were mining 1 BTC.
We skipped classes, burnt fuel on my generator, and even “strategically” befriended a course mate who lived where MTN had their mast—just so I could use free electricity and stable internet. 😅
The plan? Claim the 1 BTC (worth just ₦35,000 at the time), buy a laptop from a shop abroad that accepted Bitcoin, and ship it to Nigeria.
But guess what? 💔
When it was time to claim, we discovered it was all a fake site. Scam! All those sleepless nights and sacrifices… gone.
Looking back now, 1 BTC is worth millions. The journey was rough, but it taught me two big lessons:
👉 Do your research before diving into opportunities.
👉 Every experience is an investment, even the painful ones.
Sometimes, the failures we cry about today become the stories that inspire tomorrow. 🚀
