Targeting agents of Israel is not a hate crime. It’s a politically motivated crime. This dudes manifesto doesn’t talk about the Jews. It talks about Israel and their attacks on Gaza. Clear as day that this wasn’t motivated by religion.

regardless of whether you want to accept this as a hate crime or not, can you at least see that this is literal terrorism you’re justifying?

When did I justify it? I pointed out that it was a crime motivated by politics, not religion. Lots of Israelis aren’t Jews too. You know that, right?

your original cast diminishes the gravity of cold blooded murder it’s easily read as “this isn’t that bad because it’s not actually a hate crime” obviously i know not all israelis are jews… what does that have to do with anything?

yes, you can, there are anti zionist people inside israel.. and those guys committing a genocide are precisely those who defend zionism and not the opposite

if you live somewhere and hate it you can leave! clearly those people are virtue signaling and don’t actually hate israel that much and clearly you don’t know what genocide is

There are many anti-Zionist Jews, in Israel and without. Excluding them makes your argument look shallow and ill-informed.

let’s define some terms: zionism = the movement supporting the right for israel (the jewish state) to exist anti-zionism = the opposite of the above; the movement supporting the destruction of israel, ensuring it has no right to exist i don’t believe there are jews that believe israel should not exist - sure, maybe some self hating ones, but they’re the outlier, not the norm i do believe (and i know) many jews that think israel is currently handling things in gaza the wrong way as a zionist jew myself, yes - i believe israel has a right exist, which includes the right to defend itself against terrorists

Zionism is far more complex than just supporting the right of Israel to exist and it’s disingenuous to suggest otherwise. Zionism has always existed hand in hand with anti-Arab sentiment, going back to its earliest supporters. And in what way is bombing schools, mosques and hospitals Israel defending itself? Israel’s own estimates admit that at least half of those killed have been civilians— and trustworthy sources state it to be 70%. That’s genocide. And anyone who supports the wholesale slaughter of children is someone whose opinion is irrelevant.

and? This dude didn’t have to fly to DC to attack Jews. He could have done that anywhere. He chose to attack people who worked for Israel…

what’s your point? that murdering people who work for israel is justified and morally acceptable?

Maretus avatar
No? You’re literally adding shit I didn’t say and conflating things I don’t mean. My OP calls this a politically motivated crime, by its very definition - terrorism.

gotcha so why don’t you believe this is a hate crime?

I hate this take so much and can't emphasize how wrong and bad it is. You don't really believe it either (or at least I hope you dont) because by your logic since the state represents the entire religion that any crimes the state does is done in the name of the religion as a whole. Or that netanyahu should be a pope equivalent of the Jewish religion.

That last bit is 100% incorrect.

Your logic doesn't hold up to any other country but zealots' logic rarely does so...
