Formal recognition of digital assets under new law
The Investments and Securities Act (ISA) 2025 formally classifies virtual assets (including crypto) as securities. This places them under the purview of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
As a result, crypto exchanges and Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) must register with the SEC and adhere to stricter regulatory compliance.
