There's a thing called proprioceptive drift (e.g. in VR, make hand slightly displaced wrt actual reality hand and user will still believe). I bet there's a master-slave hierarchy of senses as they try to construct a coherent reality (e.g. Viz doms proprio). Would love to see some experiments that unveil it
Some psych ppl convinced participants that a rubber hand was their actual hand, then hit that rubber hand with a hammer. LOL they flinched but felt no pain.
Met some guy who reduced irl hand tremors by making VR hand stable. Obv asked if he could make it go the other way, but he said he couldn't get vibration motors to vibrate fast enough (love that he tried)
As a determinist, imo probability works because it exploits regular patterns of an inefficiently-compressed universe
