The University of Michigan announced that the final value of the December 2025 consumer confidence index was 52.9, a slight increase from 51.0 in November, but still down 28.5% year-on-year. The report pointed out that the purchase conditions for durable goods weakened for the fifth consecutive month, but personal finance and business outlook expectations improved; 63% of respondents still expect the unemployment rate to rise in the coming year. In terms of inflation expectations, one-year inflation expectations fell to 4.2%, an 11-month low, and long-term inflation expectations fell to 3.2%. - link
