I was skeptical about the whole "AI will mean everyone gets personal apps" narrative until @charliecf and I each built our own gym tracker apps in a few hours last weekend. 

I didn't even bother looking for the best app. Just vibe coded the one I wanted cause the dev time was negligible

tbh i can't explain how i did it. just asked chatgpt how to do it and followed instructions like a monkey lol

funny thing is that half the dev time was just setting up xcode to work with cursor

Yeah that's fair! maybe we'll see this trend at first get traction in internal tools at work. Then when it gets good enough, eventually prosumer maybe

I think the caveat here is that most consumers don’t know what they want

They know they want a “good gym tracker” but don’t know what that looks like until they see one that someone else thought through

why not try to launch it and see if you can actually find a market for it?
