Here's the thing though - Google doesn't make money off of those services. In fact, not only do they offer the tools for free, but they even push massive spending to get consumers to use the products.

Why? Android and Chrome aren't castles but rather the blocks that make the search castle moat stronger.

Coinbase seems to be following a similar path here. With their unmatched war chest, CB is providing services such as smart wallets, RPC nodes, Onchain Kit, etc., for free and is "scorching the Earth" around them to make sure Base is the front-door to the onchain world.
