I really like this quote from Jimmy Carr:
"Where you are now and where you want to be - if you want to do something about it, that’s ambition.
Where you are now and where you want to be - if that is *someone else’s problem*, that’s called entitlement."
I've always had issues with "entitlement" and this is what it boils down to for me. Expecting OTHERS to be responsible from getting you from person A today to person B tomorrow.
us-vs-them almost always embodies this entitlement that I'm so averse to. Yes, things can suck. Yes, people are greedy. but it's not just the rich who are greedy. Everyone can be greedy. Every walk of life has grifters. And this type of grift - where a politician promises you something from someone else -- with no effort or accountability from you -- is the greediest, most self-serving type of cancer that humanity can do without.
