Today's word of the day is: Dissonant
One of the strangest things about building is that progress and dissonance can coexist.
The project grows.
The numbers improve.
The milestones get checked off.
Yet something feels off.
Many people assume the answer is to push harder.
Sometimes the answer is to pay closer attention.
In music, dissonance creates tension that seeks resolution.
In life, it can be a signal that our actions, incentives, values, or direction have fallen slightly out of alignment.
Not enough to stop us.
But enough to create friction.
The goal isn't a life without tension.
The goal is recognizing which tensions are helping us grow and which are quietly pulling us off course.
