There a great many sources of external motivations in life.
And... some of them are pretty good at motivating, for some degree of time.
But the real good stuff?
The reason you will consistently get out of bed at 5am when the house is quiet, or stay up late after everyone's gone to sleep, so you can focus on bringing that dream to life?
A lot of that is intrinsic.
And we're here for it
