Virtual gifting (Kuaishou, Douyin) 

Buying expensive virtual gifts (flowers, sports car, cat) earns the gifter more attention and perks on the stream ... and makes the stream more entertaining for everyone.

Buying more meme/content coins works similarly. Except you can make money.

Agree! Coins and memecoins still feel heavily skewed to pvp though. But think lots of room for improvements here.
