Many people claim that $Pi is still in the “enclosed” phase, mainly because the roadmap on the official Pi website has not been updated. However, this argument does not really make sense. #PiNetwork officially launched the Open Network (mainnet) in early 2025. That fact alone already contradicts the claim that Pi is still in a enclosed mainnet stage. Those who have looked closely at the Pi website know that the Core Team tends to update the site very slowly or does not place much priority on frequent updates. In fact, they often revise whitepapers and technical details gradually over time rather than all at once. The roadmap image currently shown on the website was originally released during the enclosed mainnet phase and, realistically, is something that should be updated.
