In 2023 I wrote a small thesis explaining that Meta will likely launch their own EVM rollup or side-chain. I truly believe the next 1B users will flow through Meta. What I don't believe is they will utilize any of the features true decentralized layer 2s have, and they will have their own enshrined defi on the layer that sucks up all base capital, making most of the DeFi applications worthless.

Max Resnick's recent campaign to wake Ethereum up to organizations vampire attacking the chain is something to be aware of, but I believe the focus needs to be less on Arbitrum, Base and Optimism vampire attacking Ethereum, and more on how we need to make incredibly sticky products to prepare for the inevitable Meta Layer 2.

We need to win on real product excellency, because "territory ain't shit if your product is weak".
