What Is Base Network?
Base is an Ethereum Layer-2 solution, meaning it does not replace Ethereum but works alongside it. Transactions happen on Base first and are then securely settled on Ethereum. This approach helps reduce congestion and high fees that often affect the Ethereum main network.
Base is built using the OP Stack, an open-source framework developed by Optimism. Because of this, Base is part of the broader Optimism Superchain vision, where multiple L2 networks can work together smoothly.
