Just seeing this image makes my heart sink. On the one hand, I feel sadness as I connect with that dog's pain, and on the other, joy at living in a reality where humans and dogs, two such distinct species, can create such a pure and divine bond. How wonderful to be able to share these feelings with a being who is not even part of our species.
