Vitalik just introduced Kohaku, a system that makes ETH txs more private while still staying compliant. Here’s the idea, using a simple example of Alice sending Bob $1,000: 1. Bob has a normal ETH wallet. 2. He creates an extra “stealth key” linked to that wallet. 3. Using this key, Alice automatically generates a one-time address. 4. She sends the money to that temporary address. 5. Bob scans the network to see which one-time address belongs to him and just received funds. 6. After the transaction, that address is essentially gone. The core idea: Kohaku creates a temporary address based on the receiver’s key, so the transaction can’t be directly tied to the real wallet. Outsiders can’t tell who received the money. The special part is that users can reveal the link between the temporary address and their real wallet if they ever need to for audits, regulations, whatever. But the blockchain won’t reveal it by default. In short: private when you want, transparent when you choose.
