yes but honest, good faith critics should be addressed
a lot of their criticisms are based on it being sold as a great retail, P2P point of sale solution while it has largely failed to live up to this vision
overwhelming majority of self-custody wallets do not support it and many self custody lightning wallets have shut down and many talented, enthusiastic, and bitcoin aligned devs have moved on
it's not over but it was oversold and there are many challenges ahead to overcome
hopefully the community is successful in hurdling those obstacles
