This weird looking plane - the “Solar Impulse 2” was intended to do a circumnavigation on solar power alone - but sadly, it had battery problems and had to land and undergo major work before it could complete the journey:

If Earth is actually a sphere, why can't I fly with plane in one direction and eventually return to where I started? You can…if you’re determined enough. It’s a very long distance for a plane to fly - but it has been done. In 1986 “Voyager” circumnavigated the globe non-stop, without refueling. It took 9 days - starting and ending at Edwards AFB. It takes a very special plane to fly non-stop for 9 days…so it’s a weird-looking thing.
