Base can become the default consumer chain. With first class privacy, it will become the most powerful public telemetry system ever built. The goal is selective disclosure that preserves safety for users, verifiability for markets, and assurance for regulators. This piece maps the risks, the primitives, and a practical build order.
I. The Visibility Trap
Public ledgers create three asymmetric advantages.
1. Analytics advantage. Heavily resourced actors extract signal from wallet graphs and order flow that most users cannot hide from or contest.
2. Enforcement advantage. Centralized chokepoints can be compelled to deanonymize at scale. Even when lawful, chilling effects are real.
3. Execution advantage. Searchers, solvers, and market makers with privileged mempool visibility can extract value from naïve order flow.
Base inherits it. Success compounds the issues because distribution multiplies surface area.
Design goal: remove involuntary reveal while keeping integrity and market quality.
