always SF vs. NYC, never LA (sad). anecdotally over the last 2 years, more and more of my friends have moved away from LA to SF or NYC:
to SF if they're interested in AI
to NYC if they're interested in any other tech
only friends that have stayed in LA are CPG, entertainment, or grew up / have family in LA
