Where are my musicians? Any people learning an instrument here? What do you play? I started playing the ukulele a couple of years ago, after seeing some folks jamming with each other the entire weekend @ethprague. So much fun! Also started singing lessons this year. Not sure I'll ever do that in public 😅

Ah right, I used to play guitar (badly) a long time ago as well.. Made it easy to pick up the uke recently.. But nice! Drums seem like the most fun, but need proper space for it. Still playing with a band?

uke sounds fun! it's nice how compact it is. i don't have space for a kit at the moment but will be putting one in as soon as my house construction is done. not anymore, those days are long over. i left the band to focus on design/software 😅

To be fair, for me singing is like 90% just the confidence to just sing in public, and then 10% is the technique 😂. Ukelele comes in clutch when writing while travelling asw.

Both very true! First singing lesson were scary as well. And the uke usually comes with me traveling 😄 What else do you play?

Main instrument is guitar + vocals, can track bass in my home studio, and I can do piano but not well enough to record it, so I usually do Midi - same with drums (plus buying drums will annoy my neighbours), can also play clarinet passably and hence recorder and saxophone. I'm sure I can play other bits and pieces too, but yeah I'm more of a songwriter than an instrumental master.

Very cool, still sounds like an instrumental master to me 😅

Played drums back in the day. Old school Punk Rock. In the 90s I focused more on Jazz and Funk. Still dabble when I get a chance.

Mentioned it a few times, but drums seems like the most fun (except for my neighbors). Especially in a punk rock band 🤘

Buying the cheapest guitar on Amazon just to get started was one of my better life decisions. Every once in a while I just pick up the damn thing and jam some. And it makes me so happy.

Guitars are great for that. How often do you play? I used to play (not very good) a long time ago. Really tempted to get one again. Uke is fun, but doesn't match the sound of a real guitar 😄

Nowadays I pick up the guitar maybe two or three times a day and play around for a couple of minutes. Really nice to get out of my head. Lifts the mood. Keeps the inner child alive.

Best way to just unwind for sure! What do you usually play?

That's the funny thing about it. I don't even play any song. I am trying out what feels right in the moment. It's pure freestyle, because actually I can't really play the guitar. 😅

Used to play drums as a hobby and tried learning the piano but didn’t work out, may dabble into that again

Drums really seem like the most fun instrument to play. By far... But I don't think my neighbors would appreciate 😅 Why didn't the piano work out?
