My attempt to summarize GENIUS, lmk what crucial details I didn't cover. 1. Creates regulatory clarity for US entities like banks and tech companies to issue a digital dollar. 2. Banks have stayed out bc of regulatory uncertainty which has given companies like Circle a head start. 2.1 similar story re large companies. Paypal was about to issue one when Biden admin clamp down made them gun-shy. Only crypto companies further out on risk curve attempted it, only one survived (Circle). 3. Requires 1:1 backing with liquid assets (treasuries) 4. Audit, disclosure, registration requirements, (<= $10B circulating supply, register with state issuer is domiciled in, >$10B, registering with a federal agency I forget which). 5. No FDIC 6. Yield bearing stable coins not allowed

I think we are all experiencing various degrees of suffering right now because we’re living in a time of great conflict Even the richest / best insulated from physical conflict are not well off because to be well requires peace and community So don’t gaslight yourself — it’s quite normal to be “off” right now. To be unaffected amidst conflict is abnormal

This is developing right now btw. There have been no confirmations yet that hormuz has been closed. This part is important because around 20% of the world's traded oil passes through Hormuz, a very thin road that connects Arabian sea to Persian Gulf. This is also one of the most heavily trafficked part of the sea. If this closes, the price of oil will skyrocket, everything you use will become more expensive. The problem is, it is also really easy to close.

There are reports of ships on fire in Straits of Hormuz, NASA data confirms there is fire detected in the area. The coordinates are right at the mouth of Hormuz. We might be entering into a terrifying tunnel right now.

I see many Americans don't realize the domestic consequences of Israel unilaterally starting a war against Iran. It will change the framing of the President's job for the next four years. It will change it from inward looking 'fix America' presidency to outward focused 'fighting foreign wars' presidency. The very same thing Trump spoke against many times and said he wanted to avoid. It will hinder the progress America was supposed to make and waste billions of dollars. China will benefit immensely from all of this, and ordinary Americans will be worse off.
