In a legitimately huge infrastructure decision that gets my brain tingling, Coinbase has chosen Chainlink Labs’ Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its exclusive bridge for Coinbase Wrapped Assets (cbAssets). To me, I'm not really thinking about the $7 billion in cbAssets -- which is neat -- I'm thinking more about how this is the establishment of a plumbing standard for web3. It's the equivalent of a major telecommunications provider in the 1980s committing to TCP/IP as its universal protocol.
